Intermediate Coach Training

Eugene, February 23, 24, and 25

Intermediate Coach training is 15 hours of class room and field instruction. This training
focuses on psychological motivation, systems of play, objectives and principles of play, the
coaching cycle, and team management for the intermediate players. This will be the only training at this level in our Area for the Spring, 2007 season.

Section 2 Coach Administrator and National Coach, Sean O'Keefe, will be conducting the training. If you have attended any of Sean's seminars at the Section Conferences, you know he is a dynamic and interesting trainer.

All U14 and high school coaches and U12 coaches who will be moving up in the Fall should attend.

For Referees

Intermediate Referee

Corvallis, Mark 17, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The Intermediate Referee Course consists of six modules (14 through 19) ranging from three quarters of an hour to 2.5 hours (most are one hour or less). All six modules are required to meet the education requirements for upgrade to Intermediate Referee. These modules are designed to prepare the Intermediate Referee to referee more physically and mentally demanding and challenging AYSO matches under FIFA Laws of the Game and AYSO National Rules and Regulations. Concepts including coach, player and referee accountability, principles of play, the diagonal system of control, and foul play are introduced in these modules .
